{"cve":"CVE-2026-67314","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-01T13:17:01.407","modified":"2026-09-01T15:40:20.437","status":"Analyzed","description":"axios versions >=1.15.2 and <1.18.0 contain prototype-pollution read-side gadgets in Basic auth subfield handling (lib/adapters/http.js and lib/helpers/resolveConfig.js). When an application is already affected by a separate prototype-pollution primitive and makes an axios request with an own auth object that omits the username and/or password properties, axios reads the inherited Object.prototype.username and Object.prototype.password values and uses them to construct an outbound 'Authorization: Basic ...' header. axios itself does not pollute prototypes. The practical impact is outbound request tampering: an attacker who controls the polluted prototype values can inject attacker-chosen Basic auth credentials or replace an existing Authorization header. Credential disclosure is only possible under additional application-specific conditions.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-1321"],"references":["https://github.com/axios/axios/security/advisories/GHSA-xj6q-8x83-jv6g","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/axios-before-prototype-pollution-via-auth-subfields","https://github.com/axios/axios/security/advisories/GHSA-xj6q-8x83-jv6g"],"products":["axios:axios"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:47:10.050265369+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-67314","score":0.00411,"percentile":0.35383,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xj6q-8x83-jv6g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xj6q-8x83-jv6g","summary":"Axios: Prototype pollution auth subfields can inject Basic auth","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:12.571803170Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","purl":"pkg:npm/axios","ranges":[">=1.15.2 <1.18.0"],"fixed":["1.18.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
