{"cve":"CVE-2026-66061","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-07T21:17:29.693","modified":"2026-10-24T16:10:00.153","status":"Deferred","description":"Home Assistant is open source home automation software focused on local control and privacy. Prior to 2026.5.0, the iOS Companion app treats tag links (NFC or QR) delivered through an OS-level routing mechanism such as iOS universal links as if they were physically scanned, without validating the calling app or prompting the user. As a result, any untrusted app on the device can forward an arbitrary tag to Home Assistant, causing it to execute the associated automation as though a legitimate user had scanned an authorized tag. This allows silent, unattended automation execution by untrusted local callers. This issue has been fixed in version 2026.5.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/home-assistant/core/security/advisories/GHSA-j23v-9672-677j","https://github.com/home-assistant/iOS/commit/45e05e6666c74fdbea44cc4d6fb103043fff6fd9","https://github.com/home-assistant/core/security/advisories/GHSA-j23v-9672-677j"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:34.184483516+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-66061","score":0.00166,"percentile":0.05828,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
