{"cve":"CVE-2026-66060","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-07T21:17:29.520","modified":"2026-10-24T16:10:00.153","status":"Deferred","description":"Home Assistant is open source home automation software focused on local control and privacy. Prior to 2026.5.3, the Companion app treats tag links (NFC or QR) delivered through an OS-level routing mechanism as if they were physically scanned, without validating the calling app or prompting the user. As a result, any untrusted app on the device can forward an arbitrary tag to Home Assistant, causing it to execute the associated automation as though a legitimate user had scanned an authorized tag. This allows silent, unattended automation execution by untrusted local callers. This issue is fixed in version 2026.8.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/home-assistant/android/commit/968b49c58e4eba4d06371a3f6e73198ec6c8d4a7","https://github.com/home-assistant/core/security/advisories/GHSA-2xqv-hwrf-983f","https://github.com/home-assistant/core/security/advisories/GHSA-2xqv-hwrf-983f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:34.184483516+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-66060","score":0.00166,"percentile":0.05828,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
