{"cve":"CVE-2026-6556","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-30T13:19:25.467","modified":"2026-07-01T15:57:54.630","status":"Analyzed","description":"@fastify/express versions 4.0.6 and earlier only rewrite the plugin prefix for middleware mount paths when the path argument is a string. Non-string mount paths (arrays of paths and regular expressions) are left unprefixed inside prefixed plugin scopes, so middleware registered with those forms does not match the actual prefixed request path. Applications that use path-scoped middleware for authentication, authorization, rate limiting, or auditing on routes inside a prefixed scope can be bypassed by sending a request to the prefixed route, because Fastify still matches the route but the middleware is skipped. Patches: upgrade to @fastify/express 4.0.7. Workarounds: use string mount paths instead of arrays or regular expressions in prefixed plugins, or register one use call per path.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-285"],"references":["https://cna.openjsf.org/security-advisories.html","https://github.com/fastify/fastify-express/security/advisories/GHSA-3wf5-7852-vcfq"],"products":["fastify:fastify\\/express"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-6556","score":0.00522,"percentile":0.443,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
