Between the two calls it freed\noutput.pointer but left output.length unchanged. Since\nacpi_evaluate_object() treats a non-zero length with a non-NULL\npointer as an existing buffer to write into, the second call wrote\ninto freed memory (use-after-free). The subsequent kfree(output.pointer)\nat out_free then freed the same pointer a second time (double free).\n\nReset output.pointer to NULL and output.length to ACPI_ALLOCATE_BUFFER\nafter freeing the first result, so ACPICA allocates a fresh buffer for\neach phase independently.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0e3c739a2f6fc1de5b19a8839ab80696b9cb2a29","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/266d3dd8b757b48a576e90f018b51f7b7563cc32","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5cdb25f144b101083d8bf3fd023ad87fbe6850d7","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/632666a63116d8061c62a988d1ca39dcd6d27c9b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6ba6f6783be2ffeb2cbcdc9321c4b9f708f796f7"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:43:09.190223697+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-64372","score":0.00126,"percentile":0.02278,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
