{"cve":"CVE-2026-64033","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-19T16:17:43.493","modified":"2026-10-13T15:32:56.607","status":"Analyzed","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nRDMA/rtrs: Fix use-after-free in path file creation cleanup\n\nIn the error path of rtrs_srv_create_path_files(), the sysfs root folders\nmay already have been created and srv_path->kobj may already have been\ninitialized. If a later step fails, the cleanup currently calls\nkobject_put(&srv_path->kobj) before\nrtrs_srv_destroy_once_sysfs_root_folders(srv_path).\n\nkobject_put() may drop the last reference to srv_path->kobj and invoke the\nrelease callback, rtrs_srv_release(), which frees srv_path. The following\ncall to rtrs_srv_destroy_once_sysfs_root_folders(srv_path) then\ndereferences srv_path internally to access srv_path->srv, resulting in a\nuse-after-free.\n\nThis failure path is reached before rtrs_srv_create_path_files() returns\nsuccess, so the successful-path lifetime handling is not involved.\n\nFix this by destroying the sysfs root folders before calling\nkobject_put(&srv_path->kobj), so srv_path is still valid while the helper\naccesses it.\n\nThis issue was found by a static analysis tool I am developing.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/00904a73272b9f3ef3952fe69a833909dccad1ef","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/01e42aabaf7632beb4bf235c7238b96c746d4144","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/548f3956e53a7f7bde912d8129010b8986d5e602","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5b74373390113fba798a76b483837029ab010fef","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/92060ab1c5115674cf319175550f85f68405121f"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:36.895656543+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-64033","score":0.00488,"percentile":0.41747,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
