{"cve":"CVE-2026-63652","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-19T18:17:10.167","modified":"2026-10-26T11:10:00.157","status":"Analyzed","description":"FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to 3.28.0, rdpsnd_server_recv_formats in channels/rdpsnd/server/rdpsnd_main.c frees context->client_formats on a malformed Client Audio Formats PDU without clearing the owning pointer or num_client_formats. An authenticated RDP client can trigger an error such as a cbSize larger than the remaining record, leave the dangling pointer in the server context, and cause rdpsnd_server_context_free to free the same allocation again at session teardown. This reliably terminates the server and can create allocator-dependent heap corruption. This issue is fixed in version 3.28.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-415"],"references":["https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/commit/caf653c0ba1c75ec8f298d1baa59770102a5d14c","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/pull/12993","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/releases/tag/3.28.0","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-9g22-w2gr-vcmp","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-9g22-w2gr-vcmp"],"products":["freerdp:freerdp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-63652","score":0.00583,"percentile":0.47583,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
