{"cve":"CVE-2026-63299","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-12T20:17:47.830","modified":"2026-10-24T16:10:00.153","status":"Analyzed","description":"An authorization bypass vulnerability in LXD allows an authenticated user to bypass project-level disk and volume limits. Two related code paths fail to verify resource limits during volume operations: the storagePoolVolumeTypePostMove function omits the limits.AllowVolumeCreation check before moving a volume across projects, and volume snapshot restore operations skip the AllowVolumeUpdate check when the configuration is nil (Config == nil). An attacker can exploit these flaws to allocate storage resources that exceed the administrative limits configured for a project.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.9},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/canonical/lxd/security/advisories/GHSA-5h78-p252-989h"],"products":["canonical:lxd"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-63299","score":0.00588,"percentile":0.47826,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
