{"cve":"CVE-2026-6261","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-05T12:16:21.453","modified":"2026-10-26T19:10:00.163","status":"Deferred","description":"The Betheme theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in versions up to, and including, 28.4. This is due to the upload_icons() function workflow moving and unzipping user-controlled ZIP files into a public uploads directory without validating extracted file types. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files (including PHP) and achieve remote code execution via the Icons icon-pack upload flow.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-434"],"references":["https://support.muffingroup.com/changelog/","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/722c04c3-8f74-4081-b3a4-cb1ae2027312?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T19:31:02.781428341+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-6261","score":0.00612,"percentile":0.4902,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
