{"cve":"CVE-2026-62382","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-22T13:16:40.110","modified":"2026-10-12T16:10:00.220","status":"Deferred","description":"PasswordPusher versions v1.45.11 through v2.9.5 contain an improper authorization vulnerability in the push deletion logic. The ownership check compares @push.user against current_user; for an anonymously created push both values are nil, and Ruby evaluates nil == nil as true, so the check passes and the deletable_by_viewer restriction is never enforced. An attacker who knows only the secret URL can permanently delete an anonymous push even when the creator disabled viewer deletion and even without the passphrase. Only deployments that allow anonymous pushes (the default) are affected. The issue is fixed in v2.9.6.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/pglombardo/PasswordPusher/security/advisories/GHSA-jf2m-hpj9-4qx2","https://tpaidakis.com/writeups/passwordpusher-nil-authorization/","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/passwordpusher-before-authentication-bypass-via-null-comparison","https://github.com/pglombardo/PasswordPusher/security/advisories/GHSA-jf2m-hpj9-4qx2"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:38.260478770+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-62382","score":0.01169,"percentile":0.67174,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
