{"cve":"CVE-2026-61788","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-24T18:17:16.837","modified":"2026-09-30T19:57:08.043","status":"Deferred","description":"DBHub is a database MCP server for Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MariaDB, SQLite. Prior to version 0.22.6, setting `readonly = true` on the `execute_sql` tool does not make the connection read-only. The connectors are written to set PostgreSQL `default_transaction_read_only=on` (and open SQLite in `readOnly` mode), but that code is gated on a config value that is never populated, so it never runs. The only thing left enforcing read-only is a classifier that inspects the first keyword of each statement. Any `SELECT` that writes or has side effects through a function call passes it. With an ordinary role this allows sequence tampering; with a privileged role it allows writing arbitrary files on the server (`lo_export`), reading arbitrary host files (`pg_read_file`), and remote code execution (`dblink` + `COPY ... TO PROGRAM`). The HTTP transport is unauthenticated and binds to `0.0.0.0` by default, so this is reachable by any network caller of `/mcp`. Version 0.22.6 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":7.4},"cwes":["CWE-184","CWE-636","CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/bytebase/dbhub/security/advisories/GHSA-mwwr-p57h-56pf","https://github.com/bytebase/dbhub/security/advisories/GHSA-mwwr-p57h-56pf"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-61788","score":0.004,"percentile":0.33966,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mwwr-p57h-56pf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mwwr-p57h-56pf","summary":"@bytebase/dbhub's read-only mode does not prevent database writes","modified":"2026-09-24T19:45:05.497676189Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@bytebase/dbhub","purl":"pkg:npm/%40bytebase/dbhub","ranges":["<0.22.6"],"fixed":["0.22.6"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
