Prior to 0.8.2, WebSocket::Driver.server() passes a malformed Host header to URI.parse in lib/websocket/http/request.rb without catching URI::InvalidURIError, allowing a remote client to crash a TCP-backed WebSocket server when the application does not catch the error from parse(). This issue is fixed in version 0.8.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:H","score":8.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-248"],"references":["https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/commit/7d6fd87759a2fdc83590d3b49ffa661dc53fa128","https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/security/advisories/GHSA-2x63-gw47-w4mm"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-61666","score":0.00445,"percentile":0.38403,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2x63-gw47-w4mm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2x63-gw47-w4mm","summary":"websocket-driver-ruby: Denial of service via malformed Host header","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:51.355204945Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"websocket-driver","purl":"pkg:gem/websocket-driver","ranges":["<0.8.2"],"fixed":["0.8.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
