{"cve":"CVE-2026-61610","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-15T17:17:26.393","modified":"2026-10-20T03:17:16.427","status":"Deferred","description":"Lychee is a free, open-source photo-management tool. Prior to 7.6.1, when photos_star_visibility is set to anonymous, POST /api/v2/Photo::highlight can fetch and modify a photo without confirming that the caller can see it. BaseApiRequest::validateResolved() invokes SetPhotosHighlightedRequest::processValidatedValues() before authorization, and PhotoPolicy::canHighlight() returns true for anonymous callers without a canSee check. An unauthenticated attacker who can guess photo identifiers can distinguish existing private photos through differing success and not-found responses and can change their is_highlighted state, including for photos in private or password-protected albums. The issue is limited to installations using the non-default anonymous star-visibility setting. This issue is fixed in version 7.6.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":2.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-284"],"references":["https://github.com/LycheeOrg/Lychee/commit/fe07567c176bbdcda7b276bb6d664dfcd47a9b00","https://github.com/LycheeOrg/Lychee/pull/4449","https://github.com/LycheeOrg/Lychee/releases/tag/v7.6.1","https://github.com/LycheeOrg/Lychee/security/advisories/GHSA-qcqq-p4pq-7r77","https://github.com/LycheeOrg/Lychee/security/advisories/GHSA-qcqq-p4pq-7r77"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-61610","score":0.00306,"percentile":0.23121,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
