{"cve":"CVE-2026-61555","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-25T19:16:51.967","modified":"2026-09-09T21:07:31.353","status":"Deferred","description":"OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable to crashing. This occurs when Imf::GetChannelsInMultiPartFile() processes a crafted EXR with an empty multiView header attribute and Imf::viewFromChannelName() indexes the empty vector for a dotless channel name. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-125"],"references":["https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/commit/6c6bc2d485f1435d3776b3b4a36f1617cf87070b","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/commit/b4257c7740a05071262e496ae7e7efa4774712f5","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/commit/c6d3796918f8e358c9c329e909fa6b0dd7dc8cb9","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/security/advisories/GHSA-g8f2-r72m-48vx"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:17.453294893+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-61555","score":0.00172,"percentile":0.06568,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
