When the slice directive and unnamed regex captures are configured or when a background cache update happens, unauthenticated attackers can send requests that may cause uninitialized memory access in the NGINX worker process, leading to limited disclosure of memory or a restart.\n\nImpact:\nThis vulnerability may allow remote, unauthenticated attackers to have limited control to disclose memory contents or restart the NGINX worker process. There is no control plane exposure; this is a data plane issue only.\nNote: The ngx_http_slice_module module is not enabled by default; it's enabled with the --with-http_slice_module configuration parameter.\n\nNote: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H","score":8.2},"cwes":["CWE-908"],"references":["https://my.f5.com/manage/s/article/K000162100"],"products":["f5:nginx_gateway_fabric","f5:nginx_ingress_controller","f5:nginx_instance_manager","f5:nginx_open_source","f5:nginx_plus","f5:waf"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:36.895656543+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-60005","score":0.00531,"percentile":0.44943,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
