{"cve":"CVE-2026-59992","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-19T22:16:40.600","modified":"2026-10-26T10:10:00.140","status":"Deferred","description":"Tina is a headless content management system. Prior to next-tinacms-s3 23.0.4, next-tinacms-dos 23.0.4, next-tinacms-azure 14.0.4, and next-tinacms-cloudinary 26.0.4, the first-party production media adapters pass attacker-controlled object keys to storage SDK upload and delete operations without enforcing the operator's configured mediaRoot. In packages/next-tinacms-s3/src/handlers.ts, createMediaHandler accepts req.query.key for a signed PutObject URL and the DELETE path uses req.query.media as the DeleteObjectCommand key. The same missing key-boundary check exists in packages/next-tinacms-dos/src/handlers.ts, packages/next-tinacms-azure/src/handlers.ts, and packages/next-tinacms-cloudinary/src/handlers.ts. An authenticated CMS editor can therefore create or delete objects anywhere the deployment's storage credential can reach, including other tenants' or non-media objects. These issues are fixed in next-tinacms-s3 23.0.4, next-tinacms-dos 23.0.4, next-tinacms-azure 14.0.4, and next-tinacms-cloudinary 26.0.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-639","CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/tinacms/tinacms/commit/d44558e9b4502d4f4fc2c970d22985339fe2b6ce","https://github.com/tinacms/tinacms/pull/7088","https://github.com/tinacms/tinacms/releases/tag/next-tinacms-s3@23.0.4","https://github.com/tinacms/tinacms/security/advisories/GHSA-8mq9-5fw2-5rm4","https://github.com/tinacms/tinacms/security/advisories/GHSA-8mq9-5fw2-5rm4"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T10:28:23.151169805+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59992","score":0.0038,"percentile":0.31704,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8mq9-5fw2-5rm4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8mq9-5fw2-5rm4","summary":"Tina: Broken Access Control: arbitrary bucket-key write/delete in `next-tinacms-s3` (and sibling production media adapters)","modified":"2026-08-21T18:45:12.898970188Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next-tinacms-s3","purl":"pkg:npm/next-tinacms-s3","ranges":["<23.0.4"],"fixed":["23.0.4"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next-tinacms-dos","purl":"pkg:npm/next-tinacms-dos","ranges":["<23.0.4"],"fixed":["23.0.4"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next-tinacms-azure","purl":"pkg:npm/next-tinacms-azure","ranges":["<14.0.4"],"fixed":["14.0.4"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next-tinacms-cloudinary","purl":"pkg:npm/next-tinacms-cloudinary","ranges":["<26.0.4"],"fixed":["26.0.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
