This prevents the attack. If this is not possible, or as an extra precaution, you can avoid opening open untrusted files entirely. Once 4.1.17 is released, upgrade to that version to fix the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-426"],"references":["https://github.com/apache/openoffice/commit/95923fd437e06edd38a4f0e139a27c755a6f3ba6.patch","https://github.com/apache/openoffice/commit/c699bed3f75e79bd64ddec9dec49f9e210eed281.patch","https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/svfdc1jtpqlw7mo6lgg9fthcmf754pl5","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2026/10/02/2","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2026/10/08/7"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59265","score":0.00587,"percentile":0.47805,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
