Prior to 0.10.0, Open WebUI runs client-side Python with Pyodide in a same-origin web worker, allowing stored chat payloads that use pyodide.http.pyfetch or the js module fetch and XMLHttpRequest APIs to issue authenticated same-origin requests when a victim clicks Run, which can reach admin-only endpoints and execute server-side code through configured tools. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.0},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-4r2p-27mh-5m22"],"products":["openwebui:open_webui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:44:02.134301115+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59214","score":0.00423,"percentile":0.3666,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4r2p-27mh-5m22","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4r2p-27mh-5m22","summary":"Open WebUI: Stored web worker XSS via Pyodide","modified":"2026-08-04T14:40:41.114516920Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.10.0"],"fixed":["0.10.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3590","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3590","summary":"Open WebUI: Stored web worker XSS via Pyodide","modified":"2026-08-04T14:30:17.752429795Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.10.0"],"fixed":["0.10.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
