{"cve":"CVE-2026-59195","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-06T16:16:37.683","modified":"2026-07-07T19:09:30.490","status":"Analyzed","description":"pnpm is a package manager. Prior to 10.34.4 and 11.8.0, pnpm accepts package names from the env lockfile configDependencies section and uses those names directly when creating config dependency symlinks under node_modules/.pnpm-config. A malicious repository can commit a crafted pnpm-lock.yaml whose env-lockfile document contains a traversal-shaped config dependency name. During pnpm install, pnpm installs the config dependency and creates a symlink at a path derived from that name. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.4 and 11.8.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:L","score":8.2},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-qrv3-253h-g69c","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-qrv3-253h-g69c"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:42:16.820116992+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59195","score":0.00401,"percentile":0.34418,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qrv3-253h-g69c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qrv3-253h-g69c","summary":"pnpm: Path traversal in configDependencies env lockfile allows symlink creation outside node_modules/.pnpm-config","modified":"2026-07-08T08:26:43.572048973Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.4"],"fixed":["10.34.4"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.8.0"],"fixed":["11.8.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
