Prior to 25.09.3, Anki launches a local HTTP server to serve media files and web pages for parts of its interface, but requests from other origins were not sufficiently blocked. A malicious website could potentially trigger side-effecting requests to the local server, with severity varying by browser depending on Private Network Access protections. This issue is fixed in version 25.09.3.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":2.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-346"],"references":["https://github.com/ankitects/anki/commit/858e5689d0e4fd24f74856c7e8f245412694a219","https://github.com/ankitects/anki/releases/tag/25.09.3","https://github.com/ankitects/anki/security/advisories/GHSA-869j-r97x-hx2g","https://x.com/taviso/status/2051310678800253318"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:34.550481224+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59153","score":0.00264,"percentile":0.18193,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-869j-r97x-hx2g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-869j-r97x-hx2g","summary":"Anki's local HTTP server does not sufficiently validate requests","modified":"2026-07-23T15:11:19.535740707Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aqt","purl":"pkg:pypi/aqt","ranges":["<25.9.3"],"fixed":["25.9.3"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3459","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3459","summary":"Anki's local HTTP server does not sufficiently validate requests","modified":"2026-07-23T15:00:10.895986265Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aqt","purl":"pkg:pypi/aqt","ranges":["<25.9.3"],"fixed":["25.9.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
