{"cve":"CVE-2026-59152","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-06T16:16:37.413","modified":"2026-10-25T20:10:00.147","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"LangSmith Client SDKs provide SDK's for interacting with the LangSmith platform. Prior to 0.8.18, an attacker who can send an HTTP request to a server running the LangSmith SDK's TracingMiddleware can cause that server to read an arbitrary file from its local filesystem and upload the contents to LangSmith as a trace attachment. Depending on how the distributed trace system is deployed, triggering a read may not require authentication. Retrieving the contents requires read access to the LangSmith workspace the traces are sent to. The net effect is a trust-boundary crossing: a party with workspace trace-read access (for example a low-privilege workspace member, a contractor, or a compromised teammate account) gains the ability to read files from any server running TracingMiddleware, a capability outside that workspace's intended trust boundary. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.18.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.0},"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-346","CWE-843"],"references":["https://github.com/langchain-ai/langsmith-sdk/security/advisories/GHSA-f4xh-w4cj-qxq8"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:34.550481224+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-59152","score":0.00198,"percentile":0.09544,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-f4xh-w4cj-qxq8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-f4xh-w4cj-qxq8","summary":"LangSmith SDK TracingMiddleware: Arbitrary server-side file read","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:49.251222821Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"langsmith","purl":"pkg:pypi/langsmith","ranges":["<0.8.18"],"fixed":["0.8.18"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
