{"cve":"CVE-2026-58488","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-13T22:16:48.550","modified":"2026-07-14T16:42:11.910","status":"Deferred","description":"HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application. Versions prior to 1.11.0 allowed attackers to circumvent the rate-limiting of the /login and /register routes by spoofing IP addresses. HedgeDoc instances checked for CloudFlare's cf-connecting-ip header and used that instead of the users real IP address, if the header was present even when the request did not originate from Cloudflare. This made it possible for an attacker to spam login requests or create multiple arbitrary accounts by sending another cf-connecting-ip header every few requests. The issue has been fixed in version 1.11.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-290","CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/hedgedoc/hedgedoc/security/advisories/GHSA-2f9f-w8xq-276v"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:44:02.134301115+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-58488","score":0.00406,"percentile":0.34835,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
