{"cve":"CVE-2026-58266","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-07T22:16:54.207","modified":"2026-10-25T20:10:00.147","status":"Deferred","description":"Anki is a program for creating and reviewing flashcards. Prior to 25.09.4, Anki's webview-based pages communicate with the Rust backend using an internal localhost API, and user scripts included via iframes in the editor can access this API despite protections intended to block reviewer and editor scripts. A malicious imported card package with an embedded iframe can use exposed API methods such as getImageForOcclusion to read arbitrary files accessible to the Anki process and exfiltrate them over the network. This issue is fixed in version 25.09.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-346"],"references":["https://github.com/ankitects/anki/commit/b2b68d829e853da51b5de8aad6c13b53e90bc20d","https://github.com/ankitects/anki/releases/tag/25.09.4","https://github.com/ankitects/anki/security/advisories/GHSA-cw6h-ffmh-x6vh"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:34.550481224+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-58266","score":0.00221,"percentile":0.125,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cw6h-ffmh-x6vh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cw6h-ffmh-x6vh","summary":"Anki: User scripts in iframes have access to the internal Anki API","modified":"2026-07-08T08:12:36.977488613Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"aqt","purl":"pkg:pypi/aqt","ranges":["<25.9.4"],"fixed":["25.9.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
