{"cve":"CVE-2026-57584","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-10T22:16:44.560","modified":"2026-10-25T15:10:00.147","status":"Deferred","description":"Phalcon is a high-performance, full-stack PHP framework. Prior to 5.15.0, every Phalcon MVC application built with a default router registers a built-in route whose compiled PCRE pattern contains the nested quantifier (/.), and the same construct is produced by the /:params placeholder and the CLI router. Phalcon\\Mvc\\Router::handle() matches this pattern against the attacker-controlled request URI on every request, so a crafted path such as one containing repeated slashes followed by decoded newlines can trigger catastrophic backtracking and cause CPU exhaustion or route-matching failure. This issue is fixed in version 5.15.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-1333"],"references":["https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/commit/14ba22d389d5ca620bb9d5207205f836ef1224f2","https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/commit/fa798e919cb2c487062bb9899ad6fc2b673b3a67","https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/releases/tag/v5.15.0","https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/security/advisories/GHSA-x7rj-f32v-7jjg","https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/security/advisories/GHSA-x7rj-f32v-7jjg"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-57584","score":0.00524,"percentile":0.44137,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
