{"cve":"CVE-2026-57486","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-16T16:18:44.510","modified":"2026-10-23T16:07:55.893","status":"Analyzed","description":"pupnp is an SDK for development of UPnP device and control point applications. Prior to 2.0.2, ixmlNode_compare in ixml/src/node.c passes the nullable nodeValue, namespaceURI, prefix, and localName fields directly to strcmp. Non-namespaced attributes created by ixmlDocument_createAttribute legitimately leave those fields NULL. When ixmlElement_removeAttributeNode compares two distinct attribute objects with the same nodeName through find_condition_node, the pointer-identity shortcut does not apply and the comparison dereferences NULL, causing a process crash when application handling of attacker-controlled XML reaches this path. This issue is fixed in 2.0.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://github.com/pupnp/pupnp/commit/4b2f775e3b98de3cfb096707bcde040c5562d9ec","https://github.com/pupnp/pupnp/releases/tag/release-2.0.2","https://github.com/pupnp/pupnp/security/advisories/GHSA-q54q-vx78-v9rq","https://github.com/pupnp/pupnp/security/advisories/GHSA-q54q-vx78-v9rq"],"products":["pupnp_project:pupnp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-57486","score":0.0041,"percentile":0.34924,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
