{"cve":"CVE-2026-57222","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-18T20:17:17.613","modified":"2026-09-29T12:48:22.847","status":"Analyzed","description":"Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to 7.0.17 and 8.0.6, crafted IPv4 and IPv6 address pairs can collide in the IPPair hash because src/ippair.c did not compare the IP address family before reusing IPPair-backed state. This can apply state from one IP family to another for xbits track ip_pair, FTP data expectations, and, on the 7.0 release line, thresholding, detection_filter, and rate_filter rules using track by_both, causing incorrect detection state. This issue is fixed in versions 8.0.6 and 7.0.17.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-697"],"references":["https://github.com/OISF/suricata/commit/4a728464e6eb9e273bb02e3df0c28929b28db71d","https://github.com/OISF/suricata/commit/9d788575c5d22a34eeed50d56557ed12b05e0aec","https://github.com/OISF/suricata/commit/c92e270c4a795c52bce610aa1ce9ebaf065c49e6","https://github.com/OISF/suricata/releases/tag/suricata-7.0.17","https://github.com/OISF/suricata/releases/tag/suricata-8.0.6"],"products":["oisf:suricata"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:55:23.253742848+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-57222","score":0.00442,"percentile":0.38394,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
