{"cve":"CVE-2026-57141","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-15T11:17:11.617","modified":"2026-09-15T14:45:28.563","status":"Deferred","description":"PraisonAI is a multi-agent teams system. Prior to 1.7.2, the codeMode tool in src/praisonai-ts/src/tools/builtins/code-mode.ts executes model-generated JavaScript with new Function() and with(sandbox), while a regular-expression blocklist can be bypassed with Function('return this')() to recover the global object and by constructing the child_process module name dynamically. An attacker who can influence the code argument can access host process capabilities, read or write files, obtain environment credentials, and execute operating-system commands with the PraisonAI process privileges. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/commit/709a0387853709a5e2f2c34680fa64cada252c27","https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/releases/tag/v4.6.60","https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-p69m-4f92-2v84"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:53:43.293028046+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-57141","score":0.00745,"percentile":0.5481,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-p69m-4f92-2v84","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p69m-4f92-2v84","summary":"PraisonAI: Remote Code Execution via Sandbox Escape in `codeMode` Tool","modified":"2026-07-20T21:56:45.692488Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"praisonai","purl":"pkg:npm/praisonai","ranges":["<1.7.2"],"fixed":["1.7.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
