An authenticated user with permission to create or modify workflows containing a Python Code node can bypass the validator and access the task executor module namespace. The issue only affects self-hosted instances where the Python Task Runner is enabled; where N8N_BLOCK_RUNNER_ENV_ACCESS is configured to allow it, this can disclose environment variables accessible to the task runner process.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:N/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.0},"cwes":["CWE-184"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-jwm3-qcfw-c5pp","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/n8n-ast-validator-bypass-in-python-code-node"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-56777","score":0.00326,"percentile":0.25488,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jwm3-qcfw-c5pp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jwm3-qcfw-c5pp","summary":"n8n: Python Code Node AST Validator Bypass","modified":"2026-07-08T08:27:03.875491531Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.26.0 <2.26.2"],"fixed":["2.26.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<2.25.7"],"fixed":["2.25.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
