{"cve":"CVE-2026-56682","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-22T17:17:24.290","modified":"2026-09-22T18:17:15.100","status":"Deferred","description":"9Router is an AI router & token saver. Prior to 0.5.6, 9Router deployments that allow requests to reach Next.js without the sanitizing custom-server.js wrapper use the client-supplied X-9r-Real-Ip value as the bucket key in getClientIp, checkLock, and recordFail in src/lib/auth/loginLimiter.js for POST /api/auth/login. A remote unauthenticated attacker can rotate the header on every password guess so each request uses a new failed-attempt bucket and the five-attempt progressive lockout never returns HTTP 429. This permits unthrottled password guessing against the dashboard login and can lead to an administrative session if the password is recovered. This issue is fixed in version 0.5.6.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-307","CWE-807"],"references":["https://github.com/decolua/9router/commit/efd20be8d81ef2e256a7037f3aa78e6b567b5fd3","https://github.com/decolua/9router/releases/tag/v0.5.6","https://github.com/decolua/9router/security/advisories/GHSA-32gc-64m7-hj7v","https://github.com/decolua/9router/security/advisories/GHSA-32gc-64m7-hj7v"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-56682","score":0.00499,"percentile":0.42792,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-32gc-64m7-hj7v","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-32gc-64m7-hj7v","summary":"9Router has a Login Brute-Force Lockout Bypass via Spoofable X-9r-Real-Ip Header","modified":"2026-09-22T17:15:10.403933204Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"9router","purl":"pkg:npm/9router","ranges":["<0.5.8"],"fixed":["0.5.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
