{"cve":"CVE-2026-5581","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-05T08:16:35.007","modified":"2026-08-12T21:00:37.147","status":"Deferred","description":"The Multi Uploader for Gravity Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized arbitrary media deletion in all versions up to, and including, 1.1.8. This is due to missing capability checks in the `plupload_ajax_delete_file()` function, which is registered via `wp_ajax_nopriv_gfmu_delete_file`. The nonce intended for CSRF protection is exposed on any public-facing page containing a multi-uploader form field via the `GFMU_options` JavaScript object. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to permanently delete any WordPress media attachment by supplying its attachment ID, potentially leading to complete media library destruction.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gf-multi-uploader/tags/1.1.8/GFMUAddon.class.php#L131","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gf-multi-uploader/tags/1.1.8/inc/GFMUHandlePluploader.class.php#L66","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gf-multi-uploader/trunk/GFMUAddon.class.php#L131","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gf-multi-uploader/trunk/inc/GFMUHandlePluploader.class.php#L66","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&new=3501985%40gf-multi-uploader%2Ftrunk&old=3421317%40gf-multi-uploader%2Ftrunk&sfp_email=&sfph_mail="],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:47:10.050265369+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-5581","score":0.00661,"percentile":0.51622,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
