{"cve":"CVE-2026-55699","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-25T18:16:40.960","modified":"2026-06-29T21:16:36.770","status":"Analyzed","description":"pnpm is a package manager. Prior to 10.34.2 and 11.5.3, Manifest bin object keys such as \"\", \".\", and \"..\" passed pnpm's bin-name guard. When a malicious package was installed globally, later global remove, update, or add-replacement flows could re-derive those names from the installed manifest and pass path.join(globalBinDir, binName) to removeBin. For \".\" this targets the global bin directory; for \"..\" this targets its parent. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.2 and 11.5.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-22","CWE-73"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-4gxm-v5v7-fqc4","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-4gxm-v5v7-fqc4"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-55699","score":0.0045,"percentile":0.39129,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4gxm-v5v7-fqc4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4gxm-v5v7-fqc4","summary":"pnpm: Reserved bin name deletes PNPM_HOME during global remove","modified":"2026-06-27T00:11:29.774518Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.2"],"fixed":["10.34.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.5.3"],"fixed":["11.5.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
