{"cve":"CVE-2026-55697","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-25T18:16:40.707","modified":"2026-06-30T19:04:04.003","status":"Analyzed","description":"pnpm is a package manager. Prior to 10.34.2 and 11.5.3, pnpm can install configDependencies declared in pnpm-workspace.yaml before command dispatch. Before the patch, a repository could declare pacquet or @pnpm/pacquet as a config dependency and pnpm treated that repository-controlled dependency as an install-engine opt-in. During install, pnpm resolved a platform-specific @pacquet/<platform>-<arch>/pacquet binary from node_modules/.pnpm-config/<packageName> and spawned it as the developer or CI user. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.2 and 11.5.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78","CWE-494","CWE-829"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-gj8w-mvpf-x27x","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-gj8w-mvpf-x27x"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-55697","score":0.00191,"percentile":0.08778,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gj8w-mvpf-x27x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gj8w-mvpf-x27x","summary":"pnpm: Repository-controlled configDependencies can select a pacquet native install engine","modified":"2026-08-28T05:15:06.989402054Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.2"],"fixed":["10.34.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.5.3"],"fixed":["11.5.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
