Prior to 10.34.2 and 11.5.3, the generic peer-suffix normalizer also stripped parenthesized text from git, URL, tarball, file, and other opaque locators. Approval for one source string could therefore authorize a different attacker-controlled source whose locator normalized to the same value. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.2 and 11.5.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-346","CWE-693","CWE-829"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-5wx6-mg75-v57r","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-5wx6-mg75-v57r"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-55487","score":0.00181,"percentile":0.07675,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5wx6-mg75-v57r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5wx6-mg75-v57r","summary":"pnpm: Manifest identity spoof satisfies allowBuilds and runs attacker lifecycle","modified":"2026-06-26T23:41:26.609492Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.2"],"fixed":["10.34.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.5.3"],"fixed":["11.5.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
