In versions prior to 2026.7, several endpoints look up objects in a globally scoped manner rather than restricting the lookup to projects the user can access, so they return HTTP 403 (Forbidden) instead of 404 (Not Found) when a user requests an object they are not authorized to see. This difference lets unauthorized users infer whether a given object exists in a private Weblate project. The issue has been fixed in version 2026.7.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-203"],"references":["https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/commit/836bc082803d49d02f2831ec8339268eb66bcdae","https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/security/advisories/GHSA-2p9g-x3cv-5hh4"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:17.453294893+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-55227","score":0.00324,"percentile":0.25431,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2p9g-x3cv-5hh4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2p9g-x3cv-5hh4","summary":"Private Weblate projects vulnerable to observable object existence disclosure via globally scoped object lookups","modified":"2026-09-10T12:25:56.525025144Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"weblate","purl":"pkg:pypi/weblate","ranges":["<2026.7"],"fixed":["2026.7"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3941","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3941","summary":"Private Weblate projects vulnerable to observable object existence disclosure via globally scoped object lookups","modified":"2026-09-10T12:15:15.561506130Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"weblate","purl":"pkg:pypi/weblate","ranges":["<2026.7"],"fixed":["2026.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
