Prior to 10.34.2 and 11.5.3, pnpm and pacquet expanded ${ENV_VAR} placeholders from repository-controlled .npmrc and pnpm-workspace.yaml into registry request destinations and registry credentials. A malicious repository could cause dependency resolution to send victim environment secrets to an attacker-selected registry before lifecycle scripts run. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.2 and 11.5.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-200","CWE-201","CWE-522"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-3qhv-2rgh-x77r","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-3qhv-2rgh-x77r"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-55180","score":0.00366,"percentile":0.30486,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3qhv-2rgh-x77r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3qhv-2rgh-x77r","summary":"pnpm: Repository config can expand victim environment secrets into registry requests before scripts run","modified":"2026-06-26T23:41:26.493154Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.2"],"fixed":["10.34.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.5.3"],"fixed":["11.5.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
