{"cve":"CVE-2026-54752","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-17T20:16:52.877","modified":"2026-09-24T21:25:27.050","status":"Deferred","description":"NetBox Device Type Library is a collection of community-sourced device type definitions for import into NetBox. The validation test harness can deserialize pull-request-controlled tracked pickle cache files through pickle.load in the read_pickle_data function in tests/pickle_operations.py. An unauthenticated contributor can change USE_LOCAL_KNOWN_SLUGS in tests/test_configuration.py and supply a crafted tests/known-modules.pickle or tests/known-racks.pickle file that tests/definitions_test.py loads when pytest runs. Deserialization invokes attacker-controlled object reduction behavior, allowing arbitrary code execution in the GitHub Actions runner or in a maintainer process that runs the tests, with the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of reachable resources at risk. This vulnerability is fixed with commit 1c6f7e2b93589b965318c6e67ac3504831f0e71e.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.6},"cwes":["CWE-502","CWE-829"],"references":["https://github.com/netbox-community/devicetype-library/commit/1c6f7e2b93589b965318c6e67ac3504831f0e71e","https://github.com/netbox-community/devicetype-library/pull/4238","https://github.com/netbox-community/devicetype-library/security/advisories/GHSA-492p-5wp7-2w7c","https://github.com/netbox-community/devicetype-library/security/advisories/GHSA-492p-5wp7-2w7c"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:55:23.253742848+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54752","score":0.0066,"percentile":0.51568,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
