{"cve":"CVE-2026-54465","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-17T20:17:26.897","modified":"2026-10-24T20:10:00.137","status":"Analyzed","description":"websocket-driver is a WebSocket protocol handler with pluggable I/O. Prior to 0.8.1, when websocket-driver is used to implement a WebSocket server on top of a TCP server using WebSocket::Driver.server() or to complement a WebSocket client, a peer can make a single connection consume an unbounded amount of memory by sending an HTTP request or response with a never-ending list of headers. This can lead to the receiving process running out of memory. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:L","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/commit/17b569f232896e71d458404ccf4854f80e987710","https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/security/advisories/GHSA-8j3g-f24p-4mpw"],"products":["faye:websocket-driver"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:08.599881581+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54465","score":0.00488,"percentile":0.41708,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8j3g-f24p-4mpw","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8j3g-f24p-4mpw","summary":"websocket-driver: Memory exhaustion in HTTP header parser","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:51.663838014Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"websocket-driver","purl":"pkg:gem/websocket-driver","ranges":["<0.8.1"],"fixed":["0.8.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
