{"cve":"CVE-2026-54309","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-23T16:17:01.860","modified":"2026-10-26T11:10:00.157","status":"Analyzed","description":"n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 2.25.7 and 2.26.2, when @n8n/mcp-browser is run in HTTP transport mode, the MCP endpoint accepts session initialization and tool invocation requests without any authentication. Any network-reachable client, or any website visited by the user, can establish an MCP session and invoke browser-control tools. Where the n8n AI Browser Bridge extension is installed and a browser connection is active, an unauthenticated caller can access browser-control capabilities including navigation, JavaScript evaluation, and cookie and storage access against the user's real browser profile. This issue only affects instances where @n8n/mcp-browser is run with the HTTP transport (--transport http). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.25.7 and 2.26.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:H/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:L","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-306"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-qrx8-25qr-5r7v"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54309","score":0.00546,"percentile":0.45483,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qrx8-25qr-5r7v","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qrx8-25qr-5r7v","summary":"n8n: MCP Browser HTTP Transport Exposes Unauthenticated Browser-Control Sessions","modified":"2026-07-20T13:45:32.235949356Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.26.0 <2.26.2"],"fixed":["2.26.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<2.25.7"],"fixed":["2.25.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
