Prior to 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2, an authenticated user with workflow edit access could configure a Respond to Webhook node to serve binary content with an attacker-controlled Content-Type. The binary response path bypassed the central Content-Security-Policy sandbox header, allowing a public webhook to execute JavaScript in the n8n origin when visited by an authenticated user, with access to that user's session. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.0},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-v733-mwr6-fgcm"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54301","score":0.00238,"percentile":0.14713,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-v733-mwr6-fgcm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-v733-mwr6-fgcm","summary":"n8n: Same-Origin XSS in Respond to Webhook Node","modified":"2026-07-20T14:00:25.511761890Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<1.123.55"],"fixed":["1.123.55"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.26.0 <2.26.2"],"fixed":["2.26.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.0.0-rc.0 <2.25.7"],"fixed":["2.25.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
