{"cve":"CVE-2026-54284","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-17T18:17:11.400","modified":"2026-10-23T16:10:00.313","status":"Deferred","description":"sqlparse is a non-validating SQL parser module for Python. Prior to 0.6.0, TokenList construction and string conversion in sqlparse/sql.py repeatedly flatten nested token subtrees constructed by group_parenthesis and group_case, causing quadratic CPU consumption through sqlparse.parse(), sqlparse.format(), and sqlparse.split() before depth and token limits terminate processing. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-407","CWE-1333"],"references":["https://github.com/andialbrecht/sqlparse/commit/939b129e24c0ad5d51368b1aa72fffcaca76f06f","https://github.com/andialbrecht/sqlparse/security/advisories/GHSA-pwgv-4x5q-6m9f","https://github.com/andialbrecht/sqlparse/security/advisories/GHSA-pwgv-4x5q-6m9f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54284","score":0.00332,"percentile":0.26207,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-pwgv-4x5q-6m9f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-pwgv-4x5q-6m9f","summary":"sqlparse: TokenList.__init__ materializes O(subtree) value per group, causing CPU DoS before depth/token caps trigger","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:53.865279436Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"sqlparse","purl":"pkg:pypi/sqlparse","ranges":["<0.6.0"],"fixed":["0.6.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3699","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3699","summary":"sqlparse: TokenList.__init__ materializes O(subtree) value per group, causing CPU DoS before depth/token caps trigger","modified":"2026-08-19T12:45:09.690884766Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"sqlparse","purl":"pkg:pypi/sqlparse","ranges":["<0.6.0"],"fixed":["0.6.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
