In versions prior to 7.0.8, 7.3.3 and 7.4.2, an authenticated admin user can trigger expensive rendition processing with purposefully crafted filter specs resulting in potentially service degradation. The vulnerability is not exploitable by an ordinary site visitor without access to the Wagtail admin. This issue has been fixed in versions 7.0.8, 7.3.3, and 7.4.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":2.7},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/wagtail/wagtail/security/advisories/GHSA-f2p5-j6fg-5cxf"],"products":["torchbox:wagtail"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:42:16.820116992+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54260","score":0.00373,"percentile":0.31223,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-f2p5-j6fg-5cxf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-f2p5-j6fg-5cxf","summary":"Wagtail: Denial of service via unbounded filter specs in the image preview","modified":"2026-08-20T18:45:13.522719566Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"wagtail","purl":"pkg:pypi/wagtail","ranges":["<7.0.8"],"fixed":["7.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"wagtail","purl":"pkg:pypi/wagtail","ranges":[">=7.1 <7.3.3"],"fixed":["7.3.3"]},{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"wagtail","purl":"pkg:pypi/wagtail","ranges":[">=7.4 <7.4.2"],"fixed":["7.4.2"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-613","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-613","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-03T13:45:08.251414710Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"wagtail","purl":"pkg:pypi/wagtail","ranges":["<7.0.8",">=7.1 <7.3.3",">=7.4 <7.4.2"],"fixed":["7.0.8","7.3.3","7.4.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
