Prior to 1.5.0, Excon's RedirectFollower middleware failed to strip additional sensitive headers when following redirects and did not provide a custom list of headers to strip. This could cause inadvertent leakage of sensitive data when the initial request includes header information that is not intended for the new target. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-201"],"references":["https://github.com/excon/excon/commit/ea89a35308a12f4b791b6c50f2cbd33f94889fa3","https://github.com/excon/excon/pull/901","https://github.com/excon/excon/security/advisories/GHSA-48rx-c7pg-q66r"],"products":["excon_project:excon"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:36.895656543+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-54171","score":0.00427,"percentile":0.36992,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-48rx-c7pg-q66r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-48rx-c7pg-q66r","summary":"Excon does not redact additional sensitive/risky headers when following redirects","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:51.410739140Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"excon","purl":"pkg:gem/excon","ranges":["<1.5.0"],"fixed":["1.5.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
