From 5.46.1 until 6.21.2, the validation applied to filters on the public API endpoints could be partially bypassed, making it possible to reveal private fields via a brute force attack. If SQLite was used as the database password hashes were fully accessible. If MySQL was used as the database the password hashes' case (uppercase / lowercase) would have been lost, which would likely have rendered a further brute force attack on the discovered hashes fruitless. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.21.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-200","CWE-693"],"references":["https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/security/advisories/GHSA-jx35-x7fj-vgpr"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-53949","score":0.00358,"percentile":0.29271,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jx35-x7fj-vgpr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jx35-x7fj-vgpr","summary":"Ghost Content API filter bypass reveals private fields","modified":"2026-08-05T14:45:20.499988180Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"ghost","purl":"pkg:npm/ghost","ranges":[">=5.46.1 <6.21.2"],"fixed":["6.21.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
