Taking the lock again inside the DSA wrappers causes a deadlock.\n\nStumbled upon this when booting qemu with fbnic and CONFIG_NET_DSA_LOOP=y\n(which looks like some kind of testing device that auto-populates the ports\nof eth0). `ethtool -i` is enough to deadlock. This means we have basically zero\ncoverage for DSA stuff with real ops locked devs.\n\nRemove the redundant netdev_lock_ops()/netdev_unlock_ops() calls from\nthe DSA conduit ethtool wrappers.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-667"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0f99e0c3e19badaf3fdced0d3feba623e59eed41","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/74d64ae4254e99ef8c8215b057a76edac82c5f99","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/abe91fd045874d21834482adcd7a9693e7377056"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-53323","score":0.00124,"percentile":0.02082,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
