{"cve":"CVE-2026-53297","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-26T20:17:22.900","modified":"2026-10-21T13:19:14.457","status":"Modified","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nnet: mana: Guard mana_remove against double invocation\n\nIf PM resume fails (e.g., mana_attach() returns an error), mana_probe()\ncalls mana_remove(), which tears down the device and sets\ngd->gdma_context = NULL and gd->driver_data = NULL.\n\nHowever, a failed resume callback does not automatically unbind the\ndriver. When the device is eventually unbound, mana_remove() is invoked\na second time. Without a NULL check, it dereferences gc->dev with\ngc == NULL, causing a kernel panic.\n\nAdd an early return if gdma_context or driver_data is NULL so the second\ninvocation is harmless. Move the dev = gc->dev assignment after the\nguard so it cannot dereference NULL.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/50271d7ec95144d26808025b508f463780517d3c","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/793bf1f4e469c51d0e39199823da5e1de85a2741","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8ee85b75a72216c857c39457f6595709c4c9f856","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a1ddfd2c0b7a48e5239fadd2a24cc4bc2cda90e6","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bbe5c3c570645a4ceb120979d3ee203a1583d775"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-53297","score":0.00162,"percentile":0.05313,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
