This causes sixpack_decode() to process bytes that\nshould have been skipped due to TTY errors. The TTY layer does not\nguarantee that cp[i] holds a meaningful value when fp[i] is set, so\npassing those positions to sixpack_decode() results in KMSAN reporting\nan uninit-value read.\n\nFix this by processing bytes one at a time, advancing cp on each\niteration, and only passing valid (non-error) bytes to sixpack_decode().\nThis matches the pattern used by slip_receive_buf() and\nmkiss_receive_buf() for the same purpose.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-908"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1d3abf0c3ddeefc6f6d913aa129acc06fce8240a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2951656b0de00153f2687f3a093890bce72b6215","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/578f3aba427c938fecfa0d8c83d9acb213a9b24a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/987af7625ceb1ee59d70eb0abd7af11c75e45d79","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bf9a38803b2626b01cc769aaf13485d8650f576f"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-53082","score":0.00162,"percentile":0.05427,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
