Before\nthe lock is taken, psp_dev_unregister() can run to completion:\ntake psd->lock, clear out state, unlock, drop the registration\nreference.\n\nThe expectation is that the lock prevents device unregistration,\nbut much like with netdevs special care has to be taken when\n\"upgrading\" a reference to a locked device. Add the missing\ncheck if device is still alive. psp_dev_is_registered() exists\nalready but had no callers, which makes me wonder if I either\nforgot to add this or lost the check during refactoring...","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-667"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b89769f936a8fa9e66de72ddc1b71a9745a488e6","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d90df5ce6deb2424de3ad89bcc693ac1b67accc9","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e201c57073e624dd2ba5beaf9eda31e19b77b332"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-52979","score":0.00124,"percentile":0.02081,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
