In particular,\nshm_nattch is updated while holding shm_perm.lock, and attach paths can do\nthat without holding the rwsem.\n\nDo not decide that an orphaned segment is unused before taking the object\nlock. Move the shm_may_destroy() check under shm_perm.lock, matching the\nother destroy paths, and unlock the segment when it no longer qualifies\nfor removal.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/030bbc857bd51d4b25a90d931d3f8775ef22823a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1f0d01e35dbb228084d5187212e32c91a30dcbeb","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2e5c6f4fd4001562781e99bbfc7f1f0127187542","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6560be3f6a5bb84f006f184f0c966747bb58e1a3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/92cda2593cf2ed25b0e9d78e5e6d8303bba1a064"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-52930","score":0.0012,"percentile":0.01835,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
