{"cve":"CVE-2026-52827","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-15T11:17:09.993","modified":"2026-09-30T17:51:56.193","status":"Deferred","description":"Kimai is an open-source time tracking application. Prior to 2.59.0, the KIMAI_SESSION cookie issued after password verification but before TOTP completion is accepted by every /api route because config/packages/security.yaml protects the API with IS_AUTHENTICATED and App\\API\\Authentication\\ApiRequestMatcher routes an existing session through the main firewall. A Scheb TwoFactorToken satisfies that access rule, and App\\Voter\\ApiVoter grants API access to its User, allowing an attacker with a valid account password to use authenticated REST API operations without entering the second factor even though web routes remain blocked. This issue is fixed in version 2.59.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://github.com/kimai/kimai/commit/87c85270a98899e6545108cbb9f41103ec6ea312","https://github.com/kimai/kimai/pull/5957","https://github.com/kimai/kimai/releases/tag/2.59.0","https://github.com/kimai/kimai/security/advisories/GHSA-v8hx-4vx8-wc96","https://www.kimai.org/en/security/ghsa-v8hx-4vx8-wc96"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:53:43.293028046+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-52827","score":0.00576,"percentile":0.47207,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
