{"cve":"CVE-2026-5229","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-15T09:16:16.690","modified":"2026-06-17T10:58:38.607","status":"Deferred","description":"The Form Notify plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass in versions up to and including 1.1.10. This is due to the plugin trusting user-controlled cookie data to determine which WordPress account to authenticate after a LINE OAuth login. When LINE doesn't provide an email address (which is common), the plugin falls back to reading the 'form_notify_line_email' cookie value without verifying that the LINE account is associated with that email address. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain access to any user account on the site, including administrator accounts, by completing a LINE OAuth flow with their own LINE account while injecting a malicious cookie containing the target victim's email address.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://github.com/oberonlai/form-notify/commit/5eab0ea","https://github.com/oberonlai/form-notify/commit/9780764","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/form-notify/tags/1.1.08/src/APIs/Line/Login/Route.php#L116-L118","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/form-notify/tags/1.1.08/src/APIs/Line/Login/User.php#L53","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/form-notify/tags/1.1.08/src/APIs/Line/Login/User.php#L72"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-5229","score":0.0073,"percentile":0.54282,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
